Normally I dread when I have to paint whiskers…which is ironic, since I paint animals exclusively, but the more the better on ol’ Reggie here! This piece is a bit of an ode to Tasmanian devils and for the role they play in the ecosystem—not a pleasant topic—that thankfully, they take care of for everyone else. So I thought the “devil/angel” theme was appropos.

Not everyone has a place like this. If I could control the world, I would make sure they did. It is a truly priceless gift.

Uh-oh! Zöe has stopped for a rest in an unusual place…

Zöe reminds me of the day we had to remove part of a tree that was threatening our house. The workmen went about their business and then after a few hours told us they had to stop working because a squirrel and her babies were nested in part of the tree that they had to remove. So we waited a day until she moved her babies and nest to another location. It was hard saying goodbye to the splendor of that tree, but we were so glad to see the squirrel family to safety!

Montrose and Alejandro are going on an adventure! Best friends since they were joeys, through the best and worst of times! They both like apricot jam and scones, nut paste of all kinds, swimming and collecting bugs. There are a FEW things that they can never agree on, though, which always ends up in horrifying fist fights and torn trousers!!! Someone always has to separate them. Fortunately Alejandro is excellent with a needle and thread. But…they always make up and apologize. This trip was actually a surprise from Montrose to Alejandro for a kerfuffle from a few weeks ago.
